The 66th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur on 23rd January, 2015 with our primary section students. The programme began with a prayer service conducted by the students of Std 4. Master Reegan Sutari from Std 4 gave a speech in English on Republic Day. A musical mime was put up by the students of Std 1 and 2. The mime gave a message that although we belong to different religions, we are all one and that unity in diversity has been the symbol of our country.
A patriotic poem, ‘Ye Bharat desh mahaan hai ‘ was recited in Hindi by Master Sahil Vaidya. The choir group presented patriotic songs and the songs reverberated in the surroundings. A patriotic dance was presented by the students of Std 3 and 4. The melodious music and graceful movements of the dancers were spellbinding.
Our school Principal, Rev Fr John Mascarenhas addressed the students and congratulated them for a wonderful programme. Our school Head Master too addressed the students and wished them all a very Happy Republic Day.
The students dispersed with the image of the fluttering tricolour in their minds.
