The friend of children ‘The Misile Man of India’, can’t be forgotten especially in schools. The birthday of late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was celebrated with great zeal and zest at St. Theresa’s High School, Bandra.
It was a ‘No Bag Day’. The students came to school with their favorite story book to read.
The day began with a special assembly to mark the occasion. The prayers on values that we can learn from Dr. Kalam were prayed. A skit on values was put up uplifiting the  3 Ps- Passion, Perseverance and Punctuality.
An interview with Dr. Kalam was enacted. Messages were given on the importance of the day and quotes of Dr. Kalam read. 
The studious students who showed interest in extra reading and who are well behaved were felicitated with gifts of library books to encourage reading habits.
A special meditation was conducted based on the 3 Ps.
The feature film ‘I am Kalam’ was telecasted and was discussed to learn the messages from the film.
The library books were read in the classes and reviews taken.
A recorded audio-visual talk by Dr. Kalam to school children in our school in Pune was telecasted.
Other activities that were held are collage making, poster making, drawing, etc. 
At the end of the day everybody felt happy as the day was meaningfully spent keeping Dr. Kalam in our memories.
